Sound Isodorn HQW
Impact sound insulated shear force transmission for large joint widths
The Sound ISODORN HQW is a connecting element between reinforced concrete landings or stair flights, and reinforced concrete or masonry walls. It serves to transfer regular shear forces from static or quasi-static loads and simultaneously reduces sound transmission. It can bridge joint widths of up to 120 mm. Its application is limited to normal-weight concrete according to EN 206 with strength classes C20/25 to C50/60.

Composition
The Sound ISODORN HQW is available in four different profile dimensions (stainless steel or galvanised) and two different Isobox designs. A version with fire protection collars is also available as an option. For use in dry indoor areas, the bearing element can be selected in a galvanised version. For outdoor areas or humid environments, the bearing element made of V4A stainless steel (CRC III) is recommended.

Installation / Placement
The Sound ISODORN HQW consists of a rectangular hollow steel section, which slides in a sliding sleeve on one side of the joint and is supported in an impact sound box on the other side. The sleeve is pre-assembled at the factory with portal reinforcement. This serves as additional reinforcement for load transmission.
The bearing element of the Sound Isodorn HQW consists of hollow steel sections measuring 60/40 mm and 60/60 mm with wall thicknesses of 4 mm and 5 mm. The Sound Isobox, which must be installed in a concrete or masonry wall, is available as standard with 10 mm thick elastomeric bearings. A steel plate is positioned between the bearing element and the elastomeric bearing to ensure even load distribution. For installation, the Sound Isobox can be placed directly on flat concrete surfaces. If necessary, the Sound Isobox can be lined with steel plates for height adjustment or levelled with a suitable levelling mortar. A suitable levelling mortar is also required for installing the Sound Isobox in masonry walls.
