Simple shear force dowels (ESD system)
Simple, safe and cost-effective - shear force transmission between two reinforced concrete components
The use of simple shear force dowels (ESD) enables the transmission of shear forces between reinforced concrete components that are separated by a joint of up to 60 mm.
Simple shear force dowels (ESD system)
Benefits
- Small member thicknesses required from hmin = 150 mm
- Transmission of shear forces up to VRd = 191 kN
- Transmission of shear forces up to a maximum design joint width of tdesign = 60 mm
- System with European Technical Assessment (ETA 23/0180)
- Comprehensive technical brochure
- Lateral movement (in the longitudinal direction of the joint) up to ±15 mm possible (cyclical lateral movements are not permitted)
- Sleeve with integrated nailing plate
- No drilling through the formwork or subsequent drilling of concrete required
- Can be combined with the NURSID® system for height difference compensation of up to 11 mm
Simple shear force dowels (ESD system)
Composition

- Axial movable systems ESD-N ( movement in longitudinal dowel direction)
Dowel ESD-N with sleeve ESD-NK (plastic) or ESD-NE (stainless steel) - Axial and lateral movable systems ESD-Q (movement in joint and longitudinal dowel direction)
Dowel ESD-N with sleeve ESD-Q (for high loads – stainless steel sleeve with two strengthening rings) and ESD-QV (for medium loads – stainless steel sleeve with one strengthening rings)
