NURSID dowels

Transmission of shear forces between two reinforced concrete components in precast construction

The NURSID dowel is a special product designed to transmit shear forces. One half of the dowel is made of round steel, while the other half is an eccentrically arranged hexagonal profile. This design compensates for installation tolerances of up to 11 mm, making the NURSID dowel ideal for connecting prefabricated balcony slabs, arcades, and similar structures.

The NURSID dowel can be combined with ESD or DB sleeves in almost any combination, allowing for both longitudinal and lateral displacements. Joint widths of up to 30 mm can be compensated for.

NURSID dowels

Composition

The eccentrically arranged hexagonal profile of the NURSID dowel allows for height difference compensation of up to 11 mm, depending on the dowel’s diameter, by rotating the dowel during installation.

The sleeve on the side of the hexagonal profile is designed as type “Q” (lateral movement), and the sleeve on the side of the round dowel is designed as type “N” (longitudinal movement). This means that NURSID dowel systems are always longitudinally and laterally movable.
